Hayward & Stott’s unique range of silver plated tableware and interior decorations.
In 2015 we began working with our now partner factory in Harare, Zimbabwe. Together we have collaborated to create this collection that celebrates iconic African and Scottish game. Wildlife that embody the mystery and majesty of both our countries. Our aim is to develop quality homeware that is practical and meaningful.
HOW IT’S MADE
At Hayward & Stott we combine meticulous craftsmanship, artistic design and the highest standard of manufacturing. Made by skilled craftspeople, the Highland Safari Collection uses only the finest locally sourced materials such as Rhodesian teak, copper and zinc, chosen for its quality and durability.
Drawing on decades of experience, some exceptionally talented members of our team in Harare carve each original piece in wax by hand. The detail that they can achieve is truly remarkable. Moulds are created from the wax before being cast in brass. Every piece is then electroplated with 26 microns of sterling silver and finished with a light buff polish. This time serving technique allows us to maintain the high quality on every figure produced.
Our wonderful hardwearing teak is from sustainable forests in Zimbabwe. Each piece is totally unique. To achieve its characteristic reddish brown hue all of our wood is stained naturally by the African sun.
Our recommendations on how to treat wood and silver is included with each purchase on our customised Care Cards.
