Plain Quaich, made from sterling silver, available in two sizes, small and large.
The Cup of Friendship
Originating in the Highlands, where clan chiefs prized them as a token of hospitality. Quaich’s for centuries have symbolised friendship. Traditionally a shallow drinking cup with two handles on opposite sides which were typically carved out of wood. Both practical and decorative these cups held a welcoming drink (usually whisky) offered at clan gatherings and family occasions. In particular at weddings, where the Quaich symbolises shared love between the couple.
Your Plain Quaich
Today the Quaich is still commonly gifted to mark a special occasion. Most notably at christening, wedding, anniversary, retirement or a significant birthday. Gifting a Quaich represents an expression of friendship and celebration. You have the option of adding a personal message to make this gift even more unique. Whether you’re looking for something special for a friend or a corporate gift, we are able to engrave. We recommend engraving a message on the outside of the bowl, close to the rim between the lugs. If you’d like to include a logo or clan crest it can be engraved in the centre of the bowl.
